Dent du Géant (4013 m) above the Géant Glacier and Col du Géant Pass on the Mediterranean-Adriatic Continental Divide, along the border between France and Italy. As the Glacier extends over the Divide, the run-off drains into both the Mediterranean and Adriatic.
Although the Mediterranean-Adriatic Continental Divide is considered only a ‘side’ divide, it boasts some of the highest mountains in the Alps, including Mont Blanc (4808 m), the highest mountain in Europe. The peak is the site of a modern-day border dispute, with the Italians claiming the border runs along the Divide (and therefore Southeast face) and the French claiming the entirety of the mountain.

The Pass and Lake of Mont Cenis in France. The Mediterranean-Adriatic Continental Divide runs from the peak of Pointe de Ronce (far left, 3612 m) through the ridge of Grand Mont Cenis (3377 m) across the pass and road of Col du Mont Cenis, behind the building ruins and up to the peak of Cime du Laro (2881 m). This is one of the few places in the Alps where the Continental Divide deviates significantly from the border between France and Italy.
